Heavy world-building, but didn't engage me The narrator is American, which doesn't normally work on fantasy books inspired by the middles/dark ages, but his characterisations are excellent. If you like an adult-version of Bakker mixed with the depth of of Frank Herbert's 'Dune' then this could be for you.
